Master of Science Degree in audiology
Born and raised in Western New York, Dan Hewson comes to our practice with over 19 years of experience in the field. With a master’s degree in audiology from SUNY Fredonia, Mr. Hewson has extensive experience working in several of the largest Otolaryngology practices in the country, and also as a Regional Manager with Siemens Medical Audiology Division. Father, husband and full time employee with us, Dan is currently a student working to earn his doctorate in audiology; it should be completed by 2018.
Dan was naturally attracted to the field of audiology because he grew up with moderate to severe sensorineural hearing loss. He has followed hearing aid development, research and rehabilitation. If you want to know what hearing impairment is really about and how hearing devices can change your life, Dan Hewson is the one to ask. He’s been wearing hearing aids since childhood (38 years) and has an intimate understanding of the hearing impaired. His personal hearing device story is fascinating and illuminating for anyone, but especially for those who may be hesitant about the hearing rehabilitation process.
Off the clock, Dan is absolutely content spending time with his 3 children and wife, Cynthia. He can be found playing softball, golf, tennis, attending church and seriously soaking in his hot tub and pool. Over the years, he has come to love Arizona and the life he’s built here. He especially loves meeting new people with hearing impairment, hearing their story and struggles and sharing his story. He wants as many people as possible to experience the myriad benefits of hearing better, just as he has.
Born and raised in a small town in Michigan, Mr. Dexter was drawn to the field of audiology because of his deep dedication to changing people’s lives. After graduating from the University of Northern Colorado in 1974, he began his career helping the hearing impaired at the original Arizona Children’s Hospital in Tempe. He has achieved his extensive experience in hospital, otolaryngology clinic, and private practices settings. His 40 plus years practicing has given him a unique compassion for people. Mr. Dexter has joined our practice in providing the elite care that we provide to our patients. His concern for helping them to hear clearly and help them to understand their loved ones is his ultimate focus and helping to re-stimulate their minds.
When he is not working, Mr. Dexter enjoys being in the Great Outdoors including, camping, hiking and Sports. He also has a passion for photography.

Roger and the folks at Ascent helped me feel confident again. I knew I needed help hearing but didn’t feel I was “old” enough to need hearing aides. Roger took the time to educate me, help me see the value in hearing, and more importantly understanding sounds. Thank you Roger!...Sean Rodgerson, on Google
